2015

IT’S 2015 YOU SUCKERS.

(I mean that with love)

ANOTHER YEAR HAS PASSED, AND IT’S BEEN OVER 2 YEARS SINCE THE APOCALYPSE OF DEC 2012. WE HAVE SURVIVED 2014 . WE HAVE CONQUERED. WE HAVE…watched netflix, eaten an unhealthy amount of chocolate and kettle corn, and probably spent more time than what was healthy wrapped in blankets and reading with hot chocolate or tea.

All in all, a pretty spectacular year.

BUT IT’S TIME TO MOVEEEEEEE ON. IT’S A NEW YEAR OF BOOKS AND FROM THOSE I’VE READ, IT’S SHAPING UP TO BE A PRETTY FANTASTIC YEAR.

(If you want some recs, check the #2015yareads tag! Yesterday we went crazy when we were squealing about our most anticipated releases! SO MANY AMAZING TITLES.)

If you want some awesome 2015 debuts, check out these sites:

Fearless Fifteeners
Freshman Fifteens

I love all those authors, honest <3

OKAY. BUT. RESOLUTIONS. LET’S DO THIS.

2014 Resolutions

  • lose weight (always)
  • maybe eat less chocolate. Unsure about this one. Prob ain’t gonna happen.
  • GO TO BEA (I HAVE A REALLY GOOD CHANCE OF GOING THIS YEAR EEKS. EXCITED. Someone tell me if they’re going to BEA, yeah?)
  • Watch more comedies
  • Read 200 books again. Hopefully over 200 like the past three years, but I’ll take what I can get.
  • Get A averages, and at least 2 of them have to be high As.
  • Get better at drawing, but honestly, your art teacher just hates all your stuff Nikki. It’s okay, we both know we/you/I don’t have any talent.
  • Learn to driveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  • Take a decent selfie

And……yep!

GOOD LUCK THIS YEAR.

  2. I think you’re totally right, Nikki, 2015 is going to be SO AWESOME. I can’t wait to read all the shiny new books!

Your resolutions are pretty awesome. I’m super jealous that you get to go to BEA this year! I think it’s going to conflict with my schedule, plus, my parents probably wouldn’t even let me go, sigh. HOWEVER, I am planning to go to RT that’s being held in Dallas this year… *nudge nudge*

Also, I’m like 99% sure you don’t have to lose weight!! Although it IS a goal of mine to eat healthier and all that jazz.

200 books?! You’re like a reading goddess, Nikki!! I wish I had the time to do that. Alas, I’ll probably be aiming for 100 or 125 . 125 would be beating my all-time record, but I’ll have college apps and stuff this year… so we’ll see, I guess? Driving would also be nice this year!! I think my parents will finally let me, so I’m pretty excited. :D That means I’ll be able to go to author events and stuff all by myself!!

I hope your 2015 is absolutely amazing, Nikki! <3

  3. Definitely agreed on the Netflix, chocolate, and reading-in-a-blanket-with-tea. That’s basically my life right there xD NEVER RESOLVE TO EAT LESS CHOCOLATE. THAT’S NOT A GOOD THING.

I’m trying to convince my parents to let me go to BEA, but it’s hard because I live nowhere near New York, my parents are too busy to accompany me, and they’re afraid of letting me go myself. Maybe I should contact an author and make them pretend to be my chaperone o_0 Also it’s on 3 weekdays this year, and I think I have school. *cue sobbing* BUT I HOPE YOU GET TO GO. (if you do, have a lot of fun for me :P)

“take a decent selfie” LOL, easier said than done. But yes, here’s to several of our 2015 hours spent posing and hopefully not duck-facing in front of our phones ;) Happy new year!
